Liberty, Love and Expedience

Cute dog..

Are we still under laws as Christians? Grace gives us our position and sets us free from condemnation, and yet in Romans we are told that the Law is good!

Today we are considering the difference Law and Grace. Many Christians have questions about this, and so we will talk about that today with Dave Wager. He is the  president of Silver Birch Ranch and Nicolet Bible Institute in northern Wisconsin. Dave is also the co-host of a new radio program on our station designed to help young people understand the Truth of God’s Word. Check out HopeNet360 Radio with Dave Wager and Jeff Strommen Sunday evenings from 7 – 9 and have your teens tune in!

    Liberty Love and Expedience

If love is the mark of our obedience to God i.e. proof that we love Him who first loved us and gave His life as a propitiation for our sins and not only ours but the sins of the whole world. Who Himself granted repentance unto salvation and faith in that we believe God’s testimony given by His word concerning all things. And this love is defined as preferring others ahead of ourselves in all things and not in just some things.

That Love is supposed to be practiced at all times, in every circumstance with everyone even our enemies Matthew 5:43-48 yes even those we would normally consider unlovable. 1 John 2:9-11. When a new believer comes into our fellowships, they are supposed to see this love modeled at all times by all, even to the point where correction is given when we are not acting in love towards one another in accordance with the truth of the scriptures 2 Timothy 3:16-17. James 3:11-18, Ephesians 4:1-24, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31, Romans 12:1-10, 1 Timothy 5:17, Ephesians 4:25-5:21, 5:30, 1 Corinthians 14:26-40

If we lay aside what His clear instruction that we use our gifts that God has given us not to make ourselves seem to be something or even others for that matter, but to actually help each other to become stronger where we find each other lacking, that all may obtain onto the full measure of Christ being fully furnished unto every good work. Not because we have merely heard but we have witnessed with our own eyes how we must be towards one another. And All are strengthened as we have observed and participated in all things how we should walk in obedience to God in all love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8a. For it is not the hearers of the law that are justified but the doers Romans 2:13

I fear for the preachers behind the pulpits, those who rule over the laity without consideration for the exercise or instruction of those in the audience (that is indeed how they are viewed: an adience) if they were seeing themselves as one flesh as the scriptures declare, things would be different. 1 Corinthians 10:16-17.

They have been taught through the higher learning system that credentials equate to calling and giftedness. They have been taught to esteem themselves above what is written in the scriptures about them. Not only have they been taught that but they have bought into the lie that they are something and therefore worthy of honor by other men and why not? Look what you have accomplished: clearly you are the better man. Galatians 6:2, 1 Corinthians 3:18-23

How do I see myself and am I seeking honor from man instead of that Honor that comes from God only. If I seek honor from man how can I believe. John 5:44

These men and even women now who rule over the laity will stand before God and give an account of how they have lead whole congregations in false worship and Idolatry because they have refused to obey God’s word. 1 Samuel 15:22-23

Let us consider our hearts in this matter. That which we do is not good as it is not from God but man for we have received it from man.

How can a young man keep his way pure but by taking heed hereto now according to His word.

    God bless.

    Hebrews 5:12-14

For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Is it not to be our goal that those we minister to by the grace of God, that those one day will be fully furnished having their senses excersized to discern good and evil. This is not how we are operating, for we do not put into practice all the word says to do, especially when we are gathered. If this is how we are, whose disciples are we?

We cannot be disciples of Christ for if we were we would obey Him because we abide in Him and He who abides obeys and loves laying down their life for the sake of others. Always seeking reconcilliation of the sin riddled man to the holy standard of God’s Word who is Christ. Who Himself came not to be served but to serve and give His life as a ransome for many.

Can we follow that example in everything and so prove ourselves to be His disciples. John 13:34-35
